Glaeuffig

On the borderline between swiss folk music tradition and innovative ideas

Gläuffig stands for young traditional swiss country music. The musicians Mathias Landtwing (clarinet), Fraenggi Gehrig (accordion), Lukas Gernet (piano) and Pirmin Huber (double bass) have previously been particularly active in new folk music and jazz. With “Laendlerkapelle Glaeuffig”, the four young musicians from Central Switzerland have found their way back to Laendler music and prove with their first album that the young generation is keeping the valuable Swiss traditions alive. All with a light-heartedness that amazes many a listener - true to the CD motto: “Jae sowieso, uf alli Faell”. In the meantime, the band has been around for 15 years and has recorded two more CDs. They are aware of their origins and use their creativity to process and advance traditional music in a unique way.
